Lovely Charles ll Oak Coffer - With Attractive Inlay - c1670

This coffer is in lovely order.

The oak is nicely presented and the piece has a very nice feel to it.

Of particular note is the inlaid crossbanding which features a reversed parallelogram in contrasting Oak and Ash. This runs across the coffer and really elevates the whole piece. It is wonderful to think of the craftsman investing time hundreds of years ago to add a little 'bling'!

Iternally this coffer has a nice candle box on the left hand side.

Overal a lovely clean coffer which is ready to serve for another 300 years. Great storage and a pleasing item of furniture.
