Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1920s is defined by linear geometric shapes, bold colour contrasts, and monochromatic palettes. High jewellery houses during this era frequently combined diamonds with black onyx, rock crystal, or vibrant gemstones set in platinum.

1920s brooches were predominantly crafted from platinum or white gold to achieve a bright, neutral backdrop for diamonds. Accents commonly included calibre-cut black onyx, sapphires, rubies, or emeralds fitted into fine grain-set mounts.

Authentic pieces display period-specific features such as hand-cut diamonds (Old European or single cuts), millegrain edging, calibre-cut accent stones, and platinum settings. Makers marks, French export marks, or maker signatures like Cartier Paris provide further authentication.

An Art Deco brooch can be pinned to a modern jacket lapel, attached to a silk scarf, or placed on a evening handbag strap. It can also be worn as a hair ornament by securing it to a headband or velvet ribbon.

Clean gently using a soft-bristled brush, mild soap, and warm water, taking care not to submerge pieces with delicate settings or foil backings. Store separately in a fabric-lined box to prevent harder diamonds from scratching onyx or platinum surfaces.
