Description

Early 19th.c. Regency era rosewood breakfast dining table c.1830. Circular 54? diameter top, a little larger than most we see, big enough to comfortably seat six people. With highly figured rosewood veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern laid onto solid mahogany groundwork. Chamfered and crossbanded edge with a slim apron below. On a fine column pedestal with a superb carved lower portion with Egyptian inspired papyrus detail. Elegant slim tricorn plinth with moulded edges and roundels, raised on turned and carved bun feet with the original brass castors hidden below. Top can be tipped to vertical when not in use (or removed for ease of delivery), locking into place with the original brass catch. Some old wear and fading to the top, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
