Description

An unusual and particularly fine quality French CARRIAGE CLOCK in perfect working order. The case is completely oval, engraved all over (including the handle) with bowed and bevelled glass panels to all four sides and a bevelled oval glass panel to the top. The eight-day movement retains its original platform lever escapement and strikes hours and half-hours on a gong whilst the good enamel dial is perfect; the blued steel “Breguet” moon hands original and it is signed to the dial with the retailer: Rowell of Oxford. c1870-1880.
