Aramis Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The tray holds two pieces of glass between which is an appliqué cut out scene of two horses, hunters or riding horses, near fencing and grassland. The cut out is probably made of silver plate on copper. The tray surround, handles and feet are made of really good quality silver plate. The wavy surround shows elements of Art Nouveau design. There are no stamped makers marks and notably the larger horse carries a side saddle, a lady’s saddle. I have never seen a drinks tray quite like this and of this wonderful quality - it may well have been a bespoke gift for a talented horsewoman. It is exceptional and in excellent condition.
