A Rare Old Sheffield Plated Ink Stand C1800

19th century
Description

A small rare desk ink stand made of Old Sheffield Plate. Dating to c1800 this wonderful set is reminiscent of a chamber candletsick stand. With two Bristol Blue glass ink bottles, removable sconce and a snuffer on a chain. No makers marks, but very much of the period.

The condition is very good overall with little signs of wear. Tiny solder mark to the interior of one of the bottle holders. The bottles are slightly different sizes, but were clearly made to fit the stand.

Weight approx 201g.

Tray measures approx 15cm x 8cm.
