Mahogany book holder on a ball and socket joint, leading to a brass arm with sliding catch to adjust the angle from upright to horizontal. Height adjustable by around 24", on a crisply cast twisted brass column atop a heavy cast iron base with ball and claw feet to ensure stability. Retaining the original maker’s mark for J.Carter of London. Excellent, fully working condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
