Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The front of the necklace comprises interlinked ivy leaves; in Victorian England (immediately preceding the Edwardians) ivy symbolised longlasting love, whether that of a deep friendship or a marriage.

The necklace is in excellent antique condition. Marked 15CT on the reverse and very faintly on the clasp. The chain has been extended at some time and is a rope twist design with a small cable chain section either side of the clasp.

Behind the main section of three ivy leaves centre front is an ingenious little hinged loop which can be folded down to suspend a drop - a single pearl could look stunning.
Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

Length: Approximately 17 and a quarter inches (44cm). The decorative front section is around 5 inches (12.5cm) long.
Weight: 14.2g.
