An Extremely Rare Set of 4 Georgian Newcastle Silver Snuff Spoons

Description

An extremely rare item of antique silver flatware. These delightful examples are a set of four silver snuff spoons. Each spoon is in Old English pattern and has the engraved monogram 'EM' to the top front. These diminutive and very collectable pieces would have been for a table snuff box and most were Assayed In London. Unusually these bear only the Maker's mark for Dorothy Langlands and would have originated in Newcastle. Wonderful and desirable pieces of English Provincial silver, with the added benefit of being by a female Newcastle silversmith. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. The gilding is softening in parts, commensurate with age and use.
