French Directoire Style Mahogany Cabinet

Description

A French Directorie style mahogany cabinet, early 20th century, the stepped cornice with laurel leaf pediment over a pair of glazed doors and adjustable shelved interior, flanked by canted column corners topped with masks and applied mouldings, the base with a single frieze drawer over a pair of panelled cupboard doors with gilt gesso laurel wreath mounts flanked by canted column corners topped with lion's masks, raised on four lion paw feet and with gilt gesso foliate mounts throughout. With two original, working keys.

229cm high max (209cm without the cornice pediment), 106cm wide max including corners, 42cm deep max.
