Gents 1960s Rado World Travel De Luxe Wrist Watch

Description

Gents 1960s Rado World Travel De Luxe wrist watch.

The watch has a 30-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. The rotor is signed Rado World Travel.

The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel. The front of the case is in good condition. The screw-on case back has marking around the edge, and also scratches where it has been opened in the past. There is also reference to a couple of 1950s patents which relate 1950s applications for watch case design.

Original signed winding crown.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, seconds sweep and date display. This is an early form of quickset date where the hands are moved repeatedly backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 8.50pm until the desired date is reached.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
