An Antique Treen Apothecary & Snuff Mortar & Pestle - From Dr Reckless Collection

An early to mid 1700s apothecary & snuff pestle and mortar from the Dr Reckless collection. Illustrated on page 270 of his book Nutmeg Graters, Pomanders & Spice Boxes.
The mortar is nicely turned with a close fitting pestle which has a carefully fitted metal grating piece to the base with cross over toothed blades.
A similar example is also illustrated in Pinto Plate 178D and described as English probably 18th century.
It measures 14.5cm h x 3cm w.
