A beautiful original antique French Baroque clock set. Very well modelled and finished with a lovely original gild. It is of architectural form with hairy paw feet, grotesque masks and applied acanthus decoration. To the top is an urn with a palm motif and a goddess mask. Candelabra are of confirming design with slender tapered columns supporting four branches. Snuffers sit in the central sconce as finials.

The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper with Blue lettering and a separate minute ring. It is complete with original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex glass. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.
Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock set running, please ask and we will send you link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in excellent condition with some slight hairlining between the 10 and 11 o'clock. The original glass has some slight mark. Both candelabra have an old repair to the base of the tapered column.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
