Antique silver Zenith pocket watch, 1919.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement, with Breguet hairspring, compensated balance and snail cam micro regulator, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Zenith name and the serial number 2,241,171 dates it back to 1919.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has details of the movement and medals won at trade shows in Geneva in 1896 and Paris in 1900.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Swiss 800 silver marks inside the case back, together with the Zenith logo. There is a rose gold wash around the edges, known as galonne style which was popular in the Scandinavian countries in the early 1900s. There is some rubbing to the wash and a couple of small marks but overall very nice for an antique piece.

The acrylic lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial has an old minor repair to the centre and it looks as though one of the hands is a replacement although of the correct period. Some slight darkening to the subsidiary seconds dial.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
