Regency Mahogany Teapoy C.1830

19th century
Description

Regency mahogany teapoy, or side table with storage c.1830. Sarcophagus shaped box of tapering form with canted corners, lined in dark crimson velvet, internal height 8". Deep moulded lid with gadrooned edge and carved acanthus detail at the corners. Raised on a crisp turned column with segmented sections on a tricorn plinth (weighted with iron on the underside for stability). Turned and reeded feet with original brass castors recessed below. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Collinge Antiques
