Gents 1917 Waltham Wrist Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

Gents 1917 Waltham wrist watch.

The watch has a 7 jewel hand-winding movement, grade 160, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 20,949,391 dates it back to 1917.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is the gold filled Moon model from the Birmingham based case maker A L Dennison. Dennisons made most of the cases for Waltham UK. Overall, the case is in good condition, just a couple of short scratches to the bezel and and some gentle unevenness to the hinged case back.

The lens is in lovely condition.

The dial has a little marking but is very acceptable for such an early piece. Originally the hands and numbers would have had painted detail but this has been removed over the years.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
