Description

A splendid Edwardian large cut lead crystal bowl c1900. The bowl stands on a stepped pedestal and deep hexagonal base, making it very solid and sturdy suitable for serving punch, Pimm’s or other drinks, desserts or for impressive flower arrangements. The body of the bowl has an alternating star and hobnail cut pattern all over. The rim is slice cut all round, with a smooth top edge. The pedestal is stepped, with a slice cut stem, and in turn this sits on the hexagonal base, with chamfered edges and a superb double star cut base. The whole piece sparkles and announces its presence. In excellent condition but, of course, it is quite weighty at 4.23kg before packaging.
