Description

Dramatic spelter figure titled 'Vox Pacis' or the Voice of Peace after the original by the French Sculptor Georges Bareau (1866-1931) c.1894. Standing 33" tall. A Classical warrior lays down his sheathed sword and raises his arms and his voice in celebration of the end of war. Very well modelled in spelter with a good bronze coloured finish. Signed and dated 1894 in the cast. On a moulded green marble plinth with title plaque in Latin and French. Excellent condition.
