Victorian Silver Bowl – Mappin & Webb 1889

This unusual VICTORIAN SILVER BOWL is of hexafoil form around a circular concave base and is supported by four superbly crafted cast scroll legs modelled on caryatids.

Each segment of the bowl has a superbly embossed panel decorated with flowers and fruit. The lower segment of the dish has a beautiful flower-head decoration around a plain central hub.

The bowl was made by the well-known silversmiths of Mappin & Webb in 1889 and is in excellent condition and is free from any added engravings, monograms or initials.

A very unusual antique bowl which would look superb in any setting and would certainly enhance any silver collection.
