Victorian Cased Silver Tea Caddy Spoon & Sugar Tongs

A rare Victorian cased set comprising silver tea caddy spoon and silver sugar tongs, all fully hallmarked for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1872 , Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker''s mark: Thomas Smily. The case is mahogany coloured leatherette with a purple interior.

Condition: In very good condition. There is some surface scratching to the inside of the caddy spoon bowl commensurate with age and use and mentioned for complete accuracy and some marking to the case.
 
 
 
Hallmarks: London 1872.
 
 
 
Measurements: Length of spoon: 8.5 cm Length of tongs: 10 cm
 
Combined weight of silver and case: 147 grams
