19th century
Description

Antique Mahogany Single Fusee Four Glass Library Clock With Shaped Top.

This lovely antique library clock has a mahogany case with a fantastic rich colour. The top of the case then has a lovely Shaped section topped with a brass finial. The underneath of the carved section is then stepped with three sections followed by a shaped moulding. The body of the case is then square with a glass to the front and back as well as thick bevelled glass to the sides so the movement can be fully seen. The wood on the front door then has a bevelled section surrounding the glass as well as a moulding to the edge. The base then has a further moulding and is finished by four thin feet.

The dial is then silvered and set out in black, engraved Roman numerals with a thin ring of dashes to the outside marking the minutes. The top and bottom of the dial is then engraved with a scrolling pattern as well as the centre being engraved with a floral design. The dial then has two lovely shaped hands as well as being finished by a glass and bevelled brass surround in the door.

The movement is then a single fusee example of the upmost quality and ticks away as it should! It comes complete with its regulating pendulum and winding key and is fully cleaned.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
