Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The torchere with a circular top, finished with a stepped and rounded leaf rim. The top supported by rising and spreading leaves, above a leaf decorated triangular knopped stem, decorated with panels of leaves spreading from leaf medallion centres, and flanked to the corners with overlapping laurels, between a swag cap and enclosing leaf base. The tripod legs scrolling outward and downward, with enfolding and spreading foliage. The scrolled toes raised up on shaped and concave profile feet, decorated with stiff leaves.
