Description

Superb early 19th.c. French Empire style marble top commode chest of drawers or commode c.1830. Inch thick pale grey marble top over a chest of four long drawers. Particularly well figured burr walnut veneers arranged in a spectacular symmetrical pattern across the front. Shallow top drawer with a shaped front continued on the sides of the chest. Three deeper drawers below with large brass escutcheons. Flanked with shaped pilasters with large brass paw feet and raised on a stepped plinth. Walnut veneered sides. Some old scratches to the marble. Otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
