Description

A rare 'regulator' wall clock by Charles Oudin. An oval oak case with lift up front. A glass dial with dial backing showing seconds and clock dial. A tapered plated mechanism signed by maker with Breguet pendulum of 8-day duration.

Charles Oudin worked at Palais Royal, Paris from 1810. He was an eminent maker and sold to Royalty in Europe. He was a pupil of Breguet. This example dates to circa 1860.
