Description

A small, well proportioned Georgian 'cottage' longcase clock. An oak case with a flat moulded hood pediment. Hood front column capitals. A well engraved silvered and brass dial with date, seconds and name plaque. Fine blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism of high quality with 5 pillars striking the hours on a bell.

Josiah Kember of Shaw (Berkshire) is recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1771-1777.
