Description

This handsome top hat case which dates from the 19th Century is well made of a quality leather, has nice details like brass lock plate, sturdy leather handle, blue and white lining and is stamped with the Paris details of G. Menard to the inside. The lock is stamped with Brevete VP SGDG.

This hat box has a beautiful rich patina and is a very nice case for keeping a hat safe. Also ideal for home decor, shop display or photography / film prop.

The side straps are missing but the front strap is in good condition. There is no key and the front clasp does not clip in fully but clips on enough to keep the lid secure.

External Width: 35 cm (14"). External Depth: 31 cm (12"). External Height: 25 cm (10").

Hat holder aperture: Front to back: 20 cm (8"). Side to side: 21 cm (8 1/2").

Hat holder Height: 20 cm (8") at highest part.

Weight: 1616 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition with age related wear with scuffs and scrapes leaving a nice patina. Stitching is in good condition. The side straps are missing but the front strap is in good condition. There is no key and the front clasp does not clip in fully but clips on enough to keep the lid secure. Carry handle in excellent sound condition.
