Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It has a gorgeous burgundy gold tooled leather writing surface, and is beautifully finished on all sides. The gilt bronze mounts on the corners and escutcheons are beautifully cast and are very high quality as well. This has a huge working area and also lots of space inside the solid oak drawers. This desk comes with an original key that works for the two side drawers.
We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age with a bit of natural wear on the polish around the bottom of the legs.
