Description

Late Georgian oak writing bureau c1800. Open the fall to reveal a good sized writing surface (plenty of room for a laptop) with tooled leather work surface and original fitted interior of pigeon holes, six small stationery drawers and a lockable central cupboard. Over two short and three long drawers of graduated height. Solid oak drawer fronts with cockbeaded edges, brass swan neck handles and pretty chased brass escutcheons. Ogee base moulding and shaped bracket feet front and rear. Solid oak sides. Paper label to the rear for Captain R.A Mylne of the Royal Mirine Barracks Eastley near Portsmouth. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied for the fall and the little internal cupboard.
