C1890- French Oil Lamp

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1880-1910 a gilded brass and onyx oil lamp with the original, and beautifully decorated bowl and original glass chimney. The floral design on the frosted glass bowl is early Art Nouveau with soft, fluid shapes and colours.

The lamp measures 67cm in height with the glass chimney and the base is approximately 11cm square. The wick handle is marked UNIS FRANCE on one side and PARIS on the other, with a trademark symbol either side - see photo 4.

Everything is in very good condition bar a tiny mark up at the very top of the onyx column, just under the brass fitting.
