Antique English Taylor & Tunnicliffe Ceramic Whisky & Brandy Flasks in Silver Caddies

19th century
Sold by Puckerings
Description

A wonderful pair of ceramic liquor jugs beautifully formed with the sides of the jugs being modelled to emulate wicker, topped with silver plated collars with integral spout and both retaining their original stoppers with corks.

The underside of each flask is printed for the maker Taylor & Tunnicliffe and the British design registration number 101826 for the year 1888 which ties in perfectly with this style of backstamp.

Each decanter sits in it's individual silver plated holder or caddy, each standing on four bun feet and having rope style handles perfectly complimenting the wicker design of the jugs. Each caddy is marked on the underside with the makers mark.

A superb and highly sought-after pair both in excellent condition (minor wear to plate and fine crazing on the underside of the jugs, mentioned purely for accuracy). Each flask measures 6 1/2" tall and once in the caddy measures 7" tall and 7" across from handle to handle.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
