~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A stunning original antique French Rococo clock featuring a dolphin to the top of the case. It is of the most beautiful Rococo style, asymmetric waisted case decorated with 'C' scrolls, acanthus leaves and floral swags. The dolphin dives through a niche to the top of the case with a gilt bronze splash in his wake, a most unusual and attractive feature.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with swagged halve hour markers between the numerals. It is complete with original finely fretted gilt hands and convex glass.

The French movement is by Vincenti and is of the makers usual high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.

Vincenti et Cie clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
