Description
This characterful portrait of the artist, Anton Müller-Wischin (1865-1949), captures him in a steely mood. With a carved relief on his right, he looks ahead with a knowing expression. He rests his right hand on a stick. The painting is signed illegibly but clearly by a skilled hand. Müller-Wischin worked within a progressive circle of artists. The portrait was originally held at the artists estate in Marquartstein, Germany. Learn more about Anton Müller-Wischin in our directory. Medium: Oil on canvas Overall size: 22½ x 26 / 57cm x 66cm Year of creation: c. 1915 Condition: Artwork presents well. A few scuffs and abrasions but nothing that detracts in our opinion. Minor craquelure but the paint is stable. We're able to ship internationally and offer free delivery throughout the UK.
