Description

A French gilt bronze mantel clock by J.B Baillon of Paris. A good quality cast bronze case with gilt ormolu finish in the rococo style. A fixed base to the case. Fretwork side and front panels with red silk backing. A convex enamel dial signed 'J B Baillon a Paris' with Roman numerals and fine gilt hands. A gilt dial bezel surround with convex bevelled glass. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell signed Etienne Maxine. Circa 1890.
