Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

Micro mosaic jewellery became popular in Victorian times, during the early to mid-19th century, when it became the thing to do for wealthy British people to conduct The Grand Tour - a cultural trip around Europe, collecting souvenirs along the way. Italy was a popular destination for its rich cultural and artistic heritage and its high-quality glass production. Italian workshops became adept at producing micro mosaic artworks and jewellery for aristocratic tourists.

The pieces are all in good solid condition. Some of the tiny tesserae are missing, notably at the bottom of the pendant/brooch; please look carefully at the photographs. One of the earrings has a small area of some kind of reddish filler in the top section.

Size: The pendant measures approximately 5 x 4cm, the earrings are 3.8 x 2cm.
Total weight: 30.8g.
