Antique brass-bound box veneered in rosewood has brass barrel lock protruding out the front, drawer handle and engraved initial plate on the top with the monogram: " P E M" with an interesting belt design.
Lifting the lid of the antique box reveals a padded teal velvet lined interior which is perfect for keeping those precious items safe and secure. On the front edge of the open box is a small brass pin housed in the lock keep. Removing this pin allows the drawer at the front of the box to be opened revealing more padded storage space.
The open antique box's back edge is the cabinet makers plaque: "Fisher-Maker-188 Strand" which is flanked by two "Horne Patent" brass hinges.
Complete with a fully working lock and tasselled key. The key must be turned clockwise to unlock.
