French Metal Painter Tradesman Sign.

1900 - 1920
Description

This French tradesman's sign which is made of metal has a painted green background, has the wording R Ponceau Peintre hand painted to each side in green and red and dates from c1900.

This double sided sign which would have been a French painter's trade sign has a wonderful rustic feel with flaky paint showing years of aging and wear to one of the sides and the other side having a beautiful colour and look.

Being a good size with great colours and patina this makes it a super decorative piece for the home, bar or restaurant.

Could be mounted on a wall by the attached bar or looks great resting against one also.

Date: c1900.

Dimensions: Length not including side bar: 66 cm (26"). Height: 36 cm (14 3/4").

Length including side bar: 89 cm (35").

Weight: 2.25 Kg.

Condition: Well used antique condition with wear and tear, knocks, rust and flaking paint leaving a wonderful decorative look.
