Delightful Silver & Tortoiseshell Trinket Box by Mappin &Webb, Birmingham 1922

1920 - 1940
Description

This delightful silver mounted and pique tortoiseshell jewellery box was made by the renowned Mappin & Webb and is dated Birmingham 1922. The hinged cover decorated with a delicate ribbon-tied floral garland. The plain circular silver base raised on three fleur-de-lys feet.

The domed lid opening to reveal the original ivory coloured velvet interior.

Black Morocco on the underside impressed with retailers' marks.

Hallmarks:

Mn&Wb for Mappin & Webb.

Date letter "z" for 1922.

Lion Passant.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Dimensions:

Diameter: 6cm / 2.4 inches.

Height: 4cm / 1.4 inches.
