Lancastrian Jewellers has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The chain is fully hallmarked dating to Birmingham 1906 on the T-Bar, chain and dog clip.
The chain was named after Prince Albert, who was said to have been fond of wearing watch chains. The Dog clip would have been used to attach a pocket watch or fob to and the T-Bar would go through the button hole of a waistcoat to secure in place.
Today these are worn as necklaces or doubled up as bracelets and the clip can be used to hang pendants or charms from.
This is a quality example of an Albert chain which would make a great addition to any collection.
