Description

This rare glossy Victorian brooch is an elegant masterclass in the art of lapidary - cutting, grinding and polishing raw stones into works of art. The hand-cut umbrella-shaped banded agate stone is mounted with a sturdy C clasp at the back to affix it securely for wearing.

The brooch is in very good antique condition; one of the points has been slightly filed and under magnification it's possible to find a few minuscule nibbles but to the naked eye these flaws are imperceptible and we mention them only for complete accuracy.

Size: Approximately 4.5cm diameter.
