1930s Rands Minor Pocket Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

1930s Rands Minor pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss 7-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is stamped Rands Minor. The name Rands (R and S for Rotherham & Sons) was registered in 1928 and was first seen in adverts for the 1929 British Industries Fair where the company was listed as ‘manufacturers of English gold and silver watches in all varieties’. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratching where it has been opened in the past.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel and it is in lovely condition.

The acrylic lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes with a single chain, 29cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
