Description

A beautiful Victorian locket, nine-carat gold front and back. One side is very ornately engraved with a large coral- and pearl-set anchor design, while the other bears the inscribed legend "From EW to MJC". The anchor was a popular and pervasive motif in Victorian culture, symbolising the seafaring nation and new opportunities as well as hope and the idea of remaining steadfast - never give up!

We have left the inside panels exactly as we found them with two simple card inserts which could easily be replaced with your own photos.

The piece is in excellent antique condition with hinge and clasp in good working order.

Size: Approximately 2.5cm (1 inch wide) x 3cm, 4cm total drop.
