Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The back supports in the form of rising herms, topped by leaf capitals. The arms sweeping from rounded and waisted finials to vase shaped supports, before the ringed tapering legs. The whole in a an ochre red and gilt, complete with a caned seat and silk cushion.
Date circa 1800.
