Penderyn Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The 18th century Welsh oak coffer has a decorative panelled front, with further panelling to the sides. Raised on decorative bracket feet. A rather good and neat example of its kind.

Item Ref; M-3864
DIMENSIONS:
Height – 89.5cm / Width – 145.5cm / Depth – 52cm
CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and dents to the top, front and sides (pictured). There are signs of shrinkage to the top (pictured), also splits to the wood on the left side (pictured), however this doesn’t affect the integrity of the product. There is evidence of historical woodworm to the back, this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The antique Welsh oak coffer remains structurally solid and sound. Overall, a good example of its kind.
