A lovely original bracket clock by E C Anderson of Newington, London. He is listed as working there from 1820 to 1830.
The case is in nicely figured mahogany with an oval of flame mahogany inlaid below the dial. The case has fluted quarter columns with brass capitals and brass inlay. To the top is a raised mahogany pad with bras moulded edge and a nice gilt brass pinaple finial. It stands on its original brass ball feet and to the sides are brass fish scale frets and lions head ring handles.
The good quality twin fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a smart painted dial with the makers name.
The clock is in nice original condition but the front panel of the case has bowed slightly causing vertical cracks either side, the LH side being more noticable than the RH side (see pictures). There is also a small piece of moulding missing above the RH quarter column.
The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
Dispite the defects listed it still presents as a handsom clock in good working order at half the normal price.
