A beautifully engraved solid silver Victorian Christening Set, comprising fork, spoon and napkin ring, all in the lovely original leatherette case with a gorgeous purple velvet and satin interior. Each piece is exceptionally attractive, engraved with leaf design and each featuring an empty cartouche. All bear clear hallmarks: Napkin Ring for Sheffield 1890, with slightly later date on fork and spoon: Sheffield 1891 and all with the maker''s mark for Martin, Hall & Co. (Although the date marks vary they are all the same design and have probably always been the original set.) The Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver is also very clear. This set is free from any engraved initials.  A wonderful and impressive set as a gift for a Christening or new baby.
