19th Century Irish Mahogany Breakfront Wardrobe By Robert Strahan Of Dublin

A superb quality and impressive Irish early Victorian flame mahogany breakfront gentleman’s wardrobe by Robert Strahan & Co of Dublin. Made with exceptional quality timbers it has an ogee shaped cornice and bead & reel moulded frieze highlighted by stunning flame figuring, the rounded fielded panelled doors opening to reveal a central section with two original sliding trays above four short over three long graduating drawers with ormolu handles, two of the short drawers with dividers and removable butler’s accoutrement boxes, the side doors fitted with knob handles and enclosing full length hanging spaces with original hanging pegs and deep drawer to one side, and shelf & shoe board to the other, hanging rails have also been added for convenience, with ‘Horne patent’ hinges and brass locks with keys and all raised on a plinth base.
