Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popular during the 1920s and 1930s, Art Deco powder bowls were decorative dressing table receptacles designed to store face powder, cosmetic puffs, or small items of jewellery. They frequently featured stylized figural lids, such as dancers or elegant women, reflecting the aesthetic themes of the era.

1930s French ceramic powder bowls were typically crafted from fine hard-paste porcelain or earthenware coated in smooth glazes. Decorative details were applied using hand-painted enamels, underglaze decoration, or gilt leaf highlights along the borders and motifs.

Authentic pieces generally feature makers marks or stamps on the underside of the base, indicating the factory or decorating studio. Genuine period examples exhibit defined moulding, period-appropriate geometric or stylized decoration, and natural wear to the unglazed base rim.

A figural ceramic powder bowl functions as an accent piece when displayed on a bedroom dressing table, a bathroom shelf, or a bedside cabinet. It introduces historical context and structured vintage character to contemporary surfaces.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a mild detergent applied with a non-abrasive cloth. Avoid submerging pieces with delicate gilding or hand-painted details, and keep them away from direct sunlight to preserve the surface finish.
