Treen - Circa 1850 English Campana Urn In The Manner Of Gillows

In richly coloured Goncalo Alves (Zebra Wood) or as Gillows called it Albuera Wood Astronium fraxinifolium. A Brazilian hard wood (from the Rosewood family) used by the Lancaster firm, from July 1823 to 1865.
 
Gillow & Co described Albuera (Goncalo Alves) in 1824 as a “fine dark wood” costing 40% more than Mahogany at the time.
