An Exceptional Rosewood Fold Over Card Table.

A charming Rosewood games table in a stunning original condition.

We are delighted to bring to you this outstandingly beautiful fold over card table in Rosewood believed to be made around C1830. This lovely table is in a fine original condition which we have just enhanced by sympathetically restoring and waxing this table preserving the lovely lightly faded original rich Rosewood colour with lots of patina and charm.

The top of this table slides over on an offset pivot to reveal a storage compartment before folding over to the double size table surface with a circular green baize covering (new) and rosewood veneer surrounding. To the underside of the top features a frieze with a floral carvings to the centre flanked either side by and elegantly carved scrolls ends to match.

The stunning original tabletop stands on its curved octagonal vase shape pillar to a circular base which sits on its stunningly carved paw feet complete with its original inset brass castors.

There is no movement or play in any of the joints as the table is being normally used, the top is flat with no bowing or twisting and smoothly turns and folds over. This table has a small overall form yet is versatile from having a fold-over top managing to accommodate up to 4 chairs for use as a card or games table.

Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump and repair here and there, However, we feel that these points are which adds charm and character to a piece.
