LOUIS NATTERO ( 1875 - 1915 )

A lovely signed oil on canvas by the important french marine painter Louis Nattero who worked almost exclusively across the Cote D’Azur paintings the harbours and fishing boats of the region. This work shows an expansive view of the quay and harbour at Toulon. A rare and sought after subject matter by a very collectable artist.

Signature: Signed lower right

Provenance: Private french collection

Medium: Oil on canvas

Size: c. 11 x 18 Inches unframed / 17 x 24 inches framed

Condition: Ready to hang.

Louis Nattero was a student of Léon Bonnat at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He worked mainly on the Mediterranean coast around Toulon and Marseilles.
